Mr. David Mills of Long Valley, NJ, will be exhibiting his floral photographic work at the McKay Gallery in Red Bank, New Jersey from November 19th thru December 23rd, 2010. He has titled the exhibit: “Flowers: the Beauty Around Us”
At SDC we have been working closely with David in preparation for the exhibit and have had the pleasure of transforming a vast selection of his prized photographs into gallery wrap canvas prints works of art. All which will be on display during his upcoming exhibit. His selections are magnificent and I highly recommend not missing it. You will not be disappointed.
Artist’s Statement
The body of work in this exhibit represent a period of many years in which I photographed numerous flowers taken in various locations. Although most images were taken in the United States, quite a few were taken abroad.
“I approach each of my photographs as a painter would approach each separate canvas: one picture at a time, exploring the possibilities, mystery and beauty of the subject matter. A photograph communicates the spontaneous impulse to caress a moment. The images shown represent my “communion” with the subject matter. All of these are memories that will never be again; a memory of time lived to it’s fullest and not wasted or lost.”
Gallery Statement
As Winter approaches, we could all use a little Spring. David Mills’ wonderful photographs of flowers from around the world show us, up close, a beauty that few of us would otherwise take the time to notice. Please step into our garden these coming weeks and take the time to smell the roses. These stylishly gallery-wrapped prints on canvas would make a stunningly beautiful addition to any home.
