For a while now I have been fascinated with the Fractal Art creations I have seen on the web by very talented artist. This is a quick initial effort on my part to create Fractal Art. Fractals are complex geometric patterns found throughout nature. In the digital world they are complex computer generated designs. They are created using mathematical formulas starting with 2-dimensional details of fractals, such as the Mandelbrot Set. The designs that can be achieved from the initial image if you will, are infinite.
See image below.
You need a software that will generate your very own fractals. I used Stephen Ferguson’s “Tiera-Zon” which can be downloaded for free by visiting the link above. I also purchased the Fractal Master App from the ITunes Store which can render the fractals in 3-D view, and started playing with it. The results are very cool. There are a number of different softwares available and most offer an evaluation period.
Most of the images here are similar since I was just getting my feet wet and wanted to demonstrate that by making small tweaks you can achieve a different look. Hopefully soon I will have some time to create some fractal designs that I have pre-visualized. I must admit… to me it’s like art therapy.
