I captured the photograph at the opening of this post on our way to a recent Romin with Roman HDR workshop at Gillette Castle in East Haddam, Connecticut. I was like a child in a candy store in the Trolleys and Subway Trains graveyard. Although I had already been there and photographed on several other occasions, I could have easily spent more time there. The photo ops are extensive… specifically for HDR (high dynamic range) .
As a native New Yorker I was fascinated to see some New York City trains which made me wonder if as a child I ever rode in this particular train with my parents, brother or grandparents. I have to admit it bought back some real good childhood memories and brought a smile to my face and warmth to my heart.
Roman has just added and announced a new workshop at the Graveyard. He has asked me to co-lead the workshop with him and I thrilled to do so. The initial response has been amazing as we expected. For more info on this exciting place and other HDR workshops you can visit this link. Aside from the vast amount of trolleys & trains from various surrounding different states that the graveyard houses, their is a great amount of graffiti art around the yard that makes for some colorful added interest on the subjects.
I also wanted to share my initial impressions about the newly released Nik Color Efex Pro 4. I got it yesterday morning and after spending some time exploring all of the new features and improvements… All I could say is: What took them so long?
The latest version delivers one of my number one requested features of having the ability to stack filters. They have also added new filters and remarkably improved on many of the existing ones from previous versions. You will also find a new history browser, presets, the ability to save your own recipes, or download additional recipes from Nik’s websiste and much more.
You can visit Nik Software for the complete overview, system requirements, live webminars & training videos You can also download a fully functional 15 day trial. Nik software has gracefully allowed me to share a 15% discount off the purchase or upgrade of the new Color Efex Pro 4. Simply enter my code SCANDELARIO upon checkout.
