The Chesapeake Bay Bridge is a major dual-span bridge in the U.S. state of Maryland. Spanning the Chesapeake Bay, it connects the state’s rural Eastern Shore region with the urban Western Shore, between Stevensville and the capital city of Annapolis.
It is widely considered the single scariest bridge in America. It is a 17.6-mile bridge–tunnel crossing at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay, the Hampton Roads harbor, and nearby mouths of the James and Elizabeth rivers in the U.S. state of Virginia.
It takes approximately 25 minutes to make a full crossing.
