There’s something magical about autumn in the Hudson Valley. Every year, as September fades into October, the region transforms into a photographer’s dream — a landscape of gold, crimson, and amber hues that seem to glow even under cloudy skies. This season, I set out once again to capture the fleeting beauty of fall foliage across some of my favorite spots in the valley.

The bridge is notable for its immense size; at 3,200 feet (980 m) long and 193 feet (59 m) high at its tallest point, it is one of the longest and highest active railroad trestles east of the Mississippi River.

This is a high-angle, aerial photograph capturing a winding two-lane road cutting through a dense, vibrantly colored forest during peak autumn foliage. The road, paved in gray asphalt with clear white and yellow lane markings, is slightly curved, creating a flowing visual line that draws the eye into the distance.
The forest on both sides of the road is a spectacular tapestry of blazing fall colors, dominated by deep crimson reds, fiery oranges, and golden yellows, interspersed with patches of green. The lighting is soft and golden.
A single small red vehicle is visible traveling down the road, providing a sense of scale and movement against the vast natural landscape. A yellow, diamond-shaped road sign is just visible on the right side of the road near the lower edge. The overall impression is one of serene, immersive natural beauty, emphasizing the stunning visual impact of the changing seasons.
