Top of the rock & the F Plate

Empire State Building ~ Top of the rock

I recently got a little break from work and got together on this clear night with good friend & photographer Clarence Holmes to photograph the New York City skyline from on Top Of The Rock. Although I am a native New Yorker I had never visited the observation tower in Rockefeller Center until Clarence brought it to my attention. After viewing his images from 70 floors above, it went right into my things to do list.

Trolleys, Graffiti & the newly released Nik Color Efex 4

Retired Subway Train #6688

I captured the photograph at the opening of this post on our way to a recent Romin with Roman HDR workshop at Gillette Castle in East Haddam, Connecticut. I was like a child in a candy store in the Trolleys and Subway Trains graveyard. Although I had already been there and photographed on several other occasions, I could have easily spent more time there. The photo ops are extensive… specifically for HDR (high dynamic range) .
