Join Doc Nick Palmieri and me for a fun and instructional meetup on Sunday, April 24th, 2022 at 4:00 pm at the historic Bethlehem Steel Stacks in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. We are calling the workshop/meetup “From Rest To Rust”.

The Bethlehem Steel Corporation began operations in the early 1900’s and the history of the place is amazing. It was America’s second-largest steel producer and largest shipbuilder.
It’s present deteriorated state is full of great photographic opportunities during the day and comes alive when the colored lights begin to reflect on the rusted stacks and furnaces when the blue hour of twilight arrives.
We will have a zoom meeting on Wednesday, April 20th, 2022 at 7:00 pm to go over logistics, what to expect, what to bring, answer any questions you may have and offer as many details as we can in order to make your shooting experience a pleasant and fruitful one the day of the meetup.
After our meetup date we will have another zoom meeting on Wednesday, April 27th, 2022 at 7:00 pm to go over the post processing of the images we captured. We will demonstrate the basics as well as to how to creatively take your images to another level.
We will be capturing wide angle views as well as magnificent close-up details of the iconic architectural structure. We will be working on creative unique compositions and techniques as well as on exposures, low light scenes, bracketing and (HDR) High Dynamic Range images. You will walk away with fabulous images of this iconic place by the end of our session.
No special camera or lenses are necessary but a tripod is highly recommended. We will be shooting after the sun goes down. A detailed informational email will be sent out after signing up prior to the event with the necessary details.
As an aside we will also be photographing the adjacent Artsquest Center with its beautiful spiral staircase and whatever interesting art installation is on display during that time.
We will meetup at 4:00 and will conclude approximately at 8:30 pm. We will most likely be grabbing a bite to eat nearby after the photo shoot and you are welcome to join us if interested.
Space is limited so if interested please register for the event as soon as possible. In the event of inclement weather the meetup will be rescheduled for Saturday, May 14th, 2022.
