Snowy Owls in New Jersey

In recent winters the Snowy Owls has made the Jersey shore a visiting spot during the harsh winter months.

The stinking beautiful white owl spend their breeding season north of the Arctic circle in Canada.

So needless to say it is quite a thrill for bird lovers and photographers alike when they are spotted in New Jersey.

I was lucky enough to be able to find what is believed to have been either a female or juvenile snowy owl during the last day of 2021.

I was using a long lens and was at a very safe distance in order to not disturb the beautiful owl.

These are a few of the photographs I was able to make that day.

Snowy Owl Landing II – Bubo Scandiacus landing on snow fence at the shore during winter.
Snowy Owl Preening – Bubo Scandiacus perched on snow fence while preening at the shore during winter.
Snowy Owl On Snow Fence – Bubo Scandiacus perched on snow fence at the Jersey shore during winter.
Snowy Owl Yawn – Bubo Scandiacus yawns while perched on snow fence at the shore during winter.
