A Central View ~ This vertical black and white panorama shows a unique perspective of the main concourse of historic Grand Central Terminal in New York City. This view shows the entire concourse from north to south and east to west including the beautiful depiction of the night sky painted across the ceiling, and the famous brass clock above the information booth. Grand Central Terminal, rebuilt in 1913, is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2013.
This was my first serious attempt of this magnitude to capture a vertical HDR panorama and I thought Grand Central Station would be a perfect venue since the panoramic views would show the grandeur of the terminal.
The Silk Mill is the last standing silk mill in the United States. Its present deteriorated state is full of great photographic opportunities especially HDR (high dynamic range) images. I enjoy being able to capture a piece of the past, when more than 50 years ago the mill ceased its operation. The mill was left intact and when you walk in it gives you a sense of how the time had been stopped.
