I recently did a blog post on vintage items I have photographed which I titled “Times Gone By” and received a number of emails and comments . It was nice to hear that so many other people enjoy photographing or displaying in their homes either antique photos or antique items.
Today I wanted to share a few other images that I created. All of the images in todays post are HDR tone-mapped using Unified’s HDR Express software and further tweaked in Photoshop, using my go to Plugins which are Topaz, Nik Effex or OnOne Perfect Effects. If you are interested in trying or learning more about the plugin softwares, I have links to their sites on the right hand side of by blog under Affiliates. Most of these companies have allowed me to extend a discount code in the event you would like to purchase them after your trial period.
For those that have never heard the term “Steampunk” below is a brief description from WIKI.
Steampunk is a sub-genre of science fiction, alternate history, and speculative fiction that came into prominence during the 1980s and early 1990s. Specifically, steampunk involves an era or world where steam power is still widely used—usually the 19th century and often Victorian era Britain—that incorporates prominent elements of either science fiction or fantasy. ~ Wikipedia
The Print Shop image was special for me, since my uncle RIP was a printer. His shop was of course much more modern that the above, but it bought back some warm childhood memories.
